Antoine Thompson is a veteran educator, coach, creative speaker, mentor, most importantly devoted father to son and daughter Brandon and Brooklyn Thompson. Thompson has been a dedicated educator for seven years, spending the previous three years at LBJ as the AVID coordinator, Varsity assistant basketball coach, and a part of the Professional development team. Recipient of the 2018 and 2019 Austin Education Foundation grant for the program “Be The Change” implemented to provide post secondary readiness, financial literacy opportunities, and exposure to institutions of color throughout the state. I pride myself in being a part of a community that helped raise me into the man I am today. It is a true honor to mold and assist young black and brown students at LBJ beyond the classroom with essential life skills. I have always been devoted to giving back to my community, more so, children of low socioeconomic backgrounds. I was one of those students, so providing realistic communication and experiences create everlasting relationships that develop mature black and brown students in a world that does not always easily accept them.
