Urban ASAK loses tough battle with Team Faith

Jamal Shead and Darius McBride scored 20 points each but it wasn’t quite enough to take down Team Faith in the team’s opening game at the Round Rock GASO.

Urban ASAK fell behind early, but Shead and McBride started heating up at the same time and opened up a 14-4 run to give the team the lead at the end of the first half. Shead got into some foul trouble early in the second half while Team Faith rode the hot hands of Isaiah Stevens, who scored 18 of his 20 points in the second half, and Greg Brown for the remainder of the game. Brown scored nine of his 24 points from the free throw line.

In addition to strong performances from Shead and McBride, Urban ASAK also received productive minutes from power forward Sam Latham, who scored 12 points and brought down double-digit rebounds. Dillon Gooding added four points and Shasirae Harvey and William McBride chipped in three points apiece.

The team will look to bounce back against the Shooting Stars at 5:10 p.m. tonight.
