Urban ASAK Elite goes 1-1 at Complete 94′ in San Antonio

The Urban ASAK Elite 17U squad traveled to San Antonio on Saturday to play in the Complete 94′ tournament and left with an impressive win and a close loss.

Playing without Darius McBride and Sam Latham, the team started out with a showdown against Under Armor SA Hardwork and lost a thriller, despite coming back from a large defecit.

Later in the day, the team took on TJ Ford Elite and overcame an early injury to starting guard Jelen Handspard to win the game 72-64. Eden Holt played out of his mind, scoring 23 points (including four three-pointers) and Jamal Shead continued his dominating play with 21 points.

Shead, along with Braelon Seals and Dillon Gooding, made their opponents uncomfortable all night, forcing turnovers and collecting steals in bunches. Even without depth in the front court, ASAK limited 6’8 D1 prospect D.J. Thorpe to just seven points.

Seals finished the game with eight points, William McBride added four and Tyrese Taylor scored two in the win.
